Hi everyone,

This e-mail is to act as meeting minutes for the Board of Directors Meeting that took place at Camp John Marc on August 14, 2005.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE:

·         In our meeting we reviewed, validated, and elected new officers into the North Texas PKU Association’s Board of Directors.  Here are the original officers and the newly revised list of officers:

·         Board meetings will take place in the 1st and 3rd Quarter of each year, with the 3rd Quarter meeting taking place during Camp PHEnomenal.

·         2/3rds of the Board is required to be in attendance at each meeting.  This can be done via conference calls if necessary. 

 

FINANCIAL UPDATE:

·         In April of 2005, Tom Hermanns had found that the North Texas PKU Association had never submitted their taxes to the state and federal government.  After working with the Association’s appointed accountant (Gregory Delk of Allen, TX), Tom has been able to pay all of the back taxes and penalties to the State & Federal government and has brought the organization back into “Good Standing”.  This cost the North Texas PKU Association $5,509.45, which leaves the organization with a balance of $14,343.32 (pre-camp expenses).

 

·         In addition, the new Board of Directors voted to pursue the 501(c)3 Non-Profit Certification.  This should cost between $1,500 & $2,000, depending on no unforeseen expenses.

 

FUND RAISERS:

·         Tom Hermanns is looking for Volunteers to help recruit Sponsors, Door Prizes and Players for this year’s Golf Tournament.  In addition, we could use 5-6 people to help out at beginning of the Tournament.  Deborah Grantham has offered to provide medical attention to anyone who may need it during the Tournament.

 

·         As many of you know, Wayne & Brenda Balthazor have recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia.  Wayne is looking into starting up a PKU Support Group in Atlanta and is planning on putting a Golf Tournament together to support this new organization.  Good luck Wayne…Let us know if you need our help!    

 

·         Tom Hermanns extended a blanket offer to help anyone interested in putting fund raisers together to support the North Texas PKU Association.
